Dear Montclair Parents and Students,

As we begin the fourth quarter, many important events are upon us as we head towards graduation.  We have Spring Break, the new California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP), Spring Sports, and AP EXAMS to name a few.

10th graders will be taking the CAHSEE for the first time on March 17th and 18th.

School will be closed for Spring Break from March 23rd through March 27th.  We will resume school on Monday March 30th.

All 11th graders will be taking the new Smarter Balanced Assessments in English and Math. This is a computer-based exam that will begin to measure the new Common Core State Standards. 10th graders will only take a Life Science Exam that is not computer based.

In May, we will administer the Advanced Placement Examinations.  These are for students currently enrolled in these college level courses and elect to take the exam. Students will receive college credit if they receive an appropriate score.  Please see schedule below.

Our Saturday Cavalier Achievement Academy CAP has been extremely successful, as we have averaged over 250 students each Saturday receiving extended learning opportunities. We will continue with our CAP program this quarter and will inform our community of upcoming dates.

Spring Sports are in full swing with Baseball, Softball, Boys Tennis, Golf, Track and Swimming.  Please come out and support our teams.

Please continue to support your student by getting involved and monitoring their progress through our School Loop system and continued communication with their Counselor.  It is very important we finish strong as we head towards summer.

Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.

As always, GO CAVS!
