The Common Core State Standards Overview

Dear Montclair Families,

Welcome back Cavs! It is hard to believe we are beginning our second semester.  We have hit the ground running with our students getting a fresh start in their classes. Students and staff and are excited full of renewed energy!

Our school will recognize students that excelled during the first semester and will also continue to support all of our students for academic achievement. We will continue to provide opportunities for our students through the infusion of additional technology in the classroom.  Our teachers are preparing students for all the upcoming exams they will face this semester.  All juniors will take the SBAC Exam in April.  AP exams will be administered in early May.

All students are encouraged to attend our tutoring programs afterschool Monday through Thursday.  Also, our Saturday School program will continue to provide extended learning opportunities for our students.  Our CAV Academy continues to flourish providing students with additional options to learn.  I encourage parents and students to continue to use School Loop to communicate with teachers, counselors and administrators to monitor progress and success.

Please keep in mind that it is critical to attend school and be on time every single day.  We are here to provide the best educational experience for all of our students as we prepare them for college and careers!

I look forward to seeing you on campus and various school events. Please don’t hesitate to call with any questions or concerns.

Go Cavs!

CAV Academy

Montclair High School is excited to announce the inception of our CAV Academy for the 2016-2017 school year. Our goal is to increase student achievement by offering more individualized help from teachers and peers and by helping students build social relationships at school through extra time that will be built in within the school day!  The Academy Schedule involves four components: CAV Core, CAV SSR, CAV Tutorial, and CAV Enrichment.  Students will be placed into one of these four areas during Academy time. Course adjustments will take place every 9-weeks.
